The first charpter analyses the three main forming conditions — the learning bloom, the emphasis given by the present governors, and the development of the bibliography in the first chapterThe process of the development of the early Han was also the process during which the governors began to emphasize on the change from fierce to civilization. They did so to suit for the necessity of the development of the history rather than the determination of the governors on their own.The Han governors decided to clean up the learning bloom and diversity so as to benefit their governing and the academia itself. There were original and natural styles of book-classification in ancient times and Seven Lue of Liu Xin and Han Records of Ban Gu were the inheritance and development of it.The second chapter gives the three elements affect the classification of History of the Han Dynasty: the former ideas of classification. The classification is both an inheritance and the result of the classification of learning. The Confucianism was out of Six Lue is just because of the present academic classes. Yet its unique position was reflected from the idea of "Confucianism only and without anything else" by the Han governors.Han Records differs novels and history books shows that the history was still not an independent science and that the realization of it began to appear at that time so as to realize the basic characteristic of it was practical recording. The literatural concept during West Han developed a lot compared with that of Early Qin and the people realized the unique of culture differing from other learning so they got an independent class of poem and prose. Yet they put the history into another class attached to Spring and Autumn as it was not much developed. The bibliography works can be classified into the two systems of Seven Lue and Four Stocks according to whether the history was an independent class. The fundamental difference between Seven Lu by Ruan Xiaoxu and Seven Records by Wang Jian lies that the former reflected the independence of the history belonging to the system of Foure Stocks which got great importance, while the latter still belongs to that of Seven Lue.The order of edition in Han Records reflects the present academic classes and has obvious value orientation reflecting the writer's value judgment, which is discussed in chapter three.History of the Former Han Dynasty·Yiwen Records inheriting from Seven Lue, classifies the present books into Six Arts Lue, the Various Schools Lue, Poem and Prose Lue, Book on the Art of War Lue, Shu-Shu Lue, and Medical Book Lue, and this manifests the academic thoughts of the writer. Six Lee has a position beyond compare as it is the official and royal learning. The social position of Taoists and Confucianism is higher than the Poem and Prose and next to Six Lue as they two got lot encouragement and support from the governors. Book on the Art of War Lue lost its importance then and falls behind the Poem and Prose; the learning and teaching of Medical Skill is more private and secrete and much less people know it, compared with Shu-Shu .The value orientation of the editing order of Han Records is not reflected from the classification of its general aim but that of the sub-aim.The respected position of Confucianism in Han Records is discussed in Chapter Four. The writer thinks that the period of Wu Emperor is the turning point of Confucianism from decline to bloom, though the common view is that it has got its unique emphasis after Wu Emperor addresses "Confucianism only". Yet it is the latter Yuan and Cheng Emperor who make Confucianism really unique as they themselves respect is and become Confucians of their own. Han Records is the mark of the bloom of Confucianism, the summary of the learning in West Han, and a symbol of respecting Confucianism. The Fifth Chapter is a monographic study on why Han Records put Chu Ci out of it, and on the classification and ordering of the prose in it. It is not Ban Gu who follows the father and son of Liu,...
