The scholar group of Yexia is the first one which shows strong literary color. In the late Han Dynasty, a troubled times, lots of scholars who admire Caocao, in the hope of their political idea, coverged on the city of Ye, a group following. During the period from the 13th to 25 year of the reign of Jian'an, because of the good condition as well as their talents in literature,the group including Caopi as the leader, Caozhi, Wangcan, Chenlin, Xugan, Liuzhen, Yingyang and Ruanyu the chief, composed poetry and Fu, when touring and drinking in the garden, writing to each other or other else, even sometimes on the same subjects. Along with these, they exchanged ideas and learned from each other, discussing the theory of literature. In pace with the above literary activities, a great mumber of literary works of excellence were made, which mainly contained such fields: tours in the garden, odes to things, poems as presents with each other, military affairs, loves. All these enriched the emotions of works, enchanced the skills on artistic expression, propelled the literary theory forward and promoted the development of literature.
