The main difference between YaMian Sub-dialect and other SiChuan dialects around it lies in that those characters which were read in entering tone in ancient time are now read in high and level tone, which was not only under the influence of historical and geographical situations, but also caused by the inevitable results of the development of entering tone. It was discovered that, when we compared the phenomena of entering tone in SiChuan together, entering tone would combine with the tone categories which had the same tone pitches and tone types during the final course of tight vowels in its development, then disappeared completely. The disappearance of consonant tail vowel with last compensation of tight vowel plays a very important role in disappearing of entering tones of Chinese. Furthermore, it makes great sense in comparative linguistics of Sino-Tibetan.
