| World Heritages are treasures of the world, and they have shown the course of human civilization development. In China, the work of heritage being inscribed on the World Heritage List started late but developed fast. Because there have been many World Heritages in China, it has been much paid attention by the world. This paper have reviewed the World Heritage research in China, and found out that World Heritage research from the view of Cross-Culture is few. The World Heritage's concepts, categories, amounts, how did it came into being, the Cultural Heritage critirias, procedure and conditions of being inscribed in the World Heritage List were introduced in this paper. By analyzing the World Heritage nomination dossier made by China and advisory body report made by ICOMOS one by one, cross-cultural differences have been found out. There are five main reasons caused these differences.First, comparing with the physical culture, spiritual culture is much harder to master. Experts of ICOMOS can generally master the function of Chinese World Cultural Heritage, but it's hard for them to undertand the cultural meaning inside, the ethnic sensibility and folk ideology. Second, in occidental cultural background, the experts' base perception caused cognitive differences. The third reason is the influences of western centered-culture ideology. The fourth reason is the methodand system of World Heritage inscription. The last one is the nomination dossiertranslation errors. There are two important meanings of cross-cultural research on World Cultural Heritage: first, it can be useful for the other heritage's work of incribing on the World Heritage list. The nomination dossiers must give prominence to the Integrality, Authenticity and exclusive characters of the World Heirtage. Put the cultural value into the internaional context, and decrease the misunderstanding as much as possible. Second, it's meaningful for the World heritage's tourism exploitation, inculuding the landscape explaining, tourism marketing and interpretation system.Third, it's helpful for choosing suited heritage management system. |
