There was a long history of pearl-catching in China. Every feudal government took different policy on the pearl-catching before the Ming Dynasty. The pearl-catching which was most prosperous in the Ming Dynasty had been developed into an extreme governmental vocation—pearl-pond enterprise then and there. In order to manage the official enterprise well and provide the emperor with enough pearls, the Ming government set up systematic managing branch constituted strict managing measures and appointed pearl-pond eunuch for a long garrisoning. Focusing on the pearl-catching and combining the material administration and financial policies, this paper whose last object is to post the harmful essence of luxurious production makes a systematic study on the enterprise of pearl-pond in the Ming Dynasty.Part 1 is an introduction which simply introduces its cause, target, structure and innovation, shortage.Part 2, including chapter 1 ,chapter 2 and chapter 3, is emphases which particularly introduces the managing and running complexion of enterprise of pearl-pond in the Mirig Dynasty. Chapter 1 narrates people's passion to pearls both in the Ming Dynasty and in the former dynasties and points out there were profound society causes. There are answers on when and where the pearl-ponds were set up in Chapter 2. Such as the instance of managing flow and idiographic measures especially the burglarproof measures could be found in the same chapter. Many times of pearl-catching which took place in the middle of Ming Dynasty are reviewed in the chapter 2 also. Chapter 3 tells us that the eunuch of pearl-pond which was collude by the local iniquitous officials disturbed the well-balanced orders both in center governmental and in regional place.Part 3, is conclusion of this paper. There are some historical experiences from the basic of careful study on the pearl-pond enterprise. The first is that the pearl-catching workers who were exposed to inhuman treatment and tragedy continual revolted against the cruel work and government. The second is that the frantic exploitation to pearl leaded to the evil consequence which indicated there was no pearl resource anymore. So, the enterprise of pearl-pond that cost much to produce the luxury to suit royal need went into bankruptcy finally in the terminal Ming Dynasty.
