Cai Xibin(1832-1900), was born in Xinjian county, Jiangxi province. He lived in Guangxi province in the late Qing dynasty, experienced four emperors: Daoguang, Xianfeng, Tongzhi, Guangxu. He was once the assistant magistrate of Longzhou county in Guangxi province, and ever experienced the Movement Of Tai Ping Tian Guo, the War between China and Frence. He was a influential figure in his age, however, the academia has paid little attention to his career and his works. It is historically and literally valuable to give a systematic study on his poems collection—Yuzhenxuan Anthology. This dissertation bases on the edition of Taipingsishunbingbeidao recensed(Guangxu 20th year), referenced by Yueqiaoyiguancao(Cai's manuscript), The Five Xinjian literatures, etc. On comparatively and completely recensing and annotating this collection, the author deeply explored several aspects of the anthology, such as Cai Xibin's life career, Cai's works and the information about the edition, the writing background, the ideas and content, the artistic characters and the limits of this collection, so as to make a comparatively scientific and objective and penetrating evaluation to Yuzhenxuan Anthology.
