Long Xiantu (1775-1838) is an important poet among "Guiquan poem school" . He lived in Qing dynasty, experienced three emperors— —Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoguang. He gave a certain influence on the poetry after the age of Qianlong and Jiaqing. However, the academia hasn' t developed a neatened and thorough study on his Yian-tang Anthology. This dissertation bases on the Bishan-Ge edition, referenced by some other literatures as Sanguanyingling Collection, Lijiangqijiu Collection, Lingui County Annals(Guangxu edition), Pingle County Annals(Guangxu edition), Zhuoxuezhai Poems Comments Study, and comparatively and completely collects, recenses and annotates the poems of Long Xiantu. On the basis of these reference books, the author begins with Long' s life career, his travels and association in the foreword, and then parses Long's poems by three levels: firstly, analyses the thoughts and contents of his poems from four aspects, i. e., the narration of the landscape and retrospection of the ancient, the responsory between friends while together, the attention to the people's livelihood and the society, the intimate family membership and encouragement for each other. Secondly, the author uses four pivots to analyse the artistic features of Long's poems: wateriness and naturalness, expression for deep character, skills of line drawing, and the combination art of the verses. Thirdly, the author comments on the success and failure of Long' s poems. Thus this dissertation tries to present the historical status of Long and his Anthology.
