Ancient Chinese Painting includes coffin chamber Fresco, palace Fresco,Paper Painting and Juan Painting etc. From Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, Juan Painting was become one of most important painting, which has the most important influence in the history of Chinese Painting. The most famous Juan Painting includes "Upper River During Qing Ming Festival" and "Entertainment at Hanxi's". Juan was weaved in silk. According to investigating and researching in Shaanxi History Museum, Historical Relics Shed of Xi'an City and Research Institute of Culture and History of Shaanxi province, we have found that Writing and Drawing on silk have turned yellowish and fragile, and some have been destroyed completely. It have not been researched on improving the durability of the Juan and preventing from ageing. This dissertation has made a new agent for protecting the ancient Juan paintings from ageing, and investigated why the traditional Juan wasn't so endurable, and developed a new type of Juan that is more splendid than other traditional one. The contents of my work are the following:The first section of this dissertation is a review of the textile relics on it's chemical composition and it's affected by environmental as well as the research development in protection and identification for them.In the second section, my attention was paid to the preservation for Ming-Qing Dynasties writings and drawings on silk. Some silk relics have become yellowish, fragile and powdery. Based on the composition of these relics, the main factor resulting in the relics demolition to derive from the sour of alum has been proposed. The permanence of textiles has been improved at molecular levels and an optimum acidity range. According to these results, a kind of new protective agents was applicable for micro-precipitation and neutral conservation to treat the silk fabrics. Three different methods of accelerating materials ageing such as heating, UV radiating and damp heating were used in the evaluation. The differences of the physical and chemical properties between the untreated and treated textiles after ageing were compared after these samples were characterized by different methods. The results in as folding endurance, tearing resistance, tensile strengthen and white of textiles, shew that the...
