Personality characteristic is a sum of behaviors which is comparative stable and always influences a person and psychological characteristics differentiated with others. It not only greatly affects individual interpersonal relationships, social adaptabilities and features of performance,but also is an important index which predicts personal working achievements. Therefore, there is a close relationship between personality characteristics, social adaptability and achievements. In recent years, an increasing attention has been paid to the research of personality characteristics of nursing staff and nursing students, however, most of these researches still stayed at a stage of theoretic study, the major objects of investigation are nursing students in technical secondary schools, there are few reports on nursing students in junior college level, especially comparative study between two groups, we haven't found resarches about the personality characteristics transition at nursing students from theoretic study to clinical practice and from clinical probationers to professional nurses. With the simplification of staff in military medical university, military nurses decreased greatly and the engaged nurses are increasing accordingly. Therefore this research aims at exploring personality characteristics of nursing staff and nursing students,and provide a basis for the selection, professional education and administration in the future.Objective To investigate the personality characteristics of local nursing students in military university including students at the stage of theoretic study, clinical practice and engaged nurses, compare the differences between these groups, and provide a basis for the selection, professional education and administration in the future.Method 205 individuals including 72 nursing students at the stage of theoretic study, 68 nursing students at the early stage of clinical practice and 65 engaged nurses were assessed with 16 Personality Factors Questionaire (16PF) . t test was applied to analyze the personality characteristics of nursing students and nurses by SPSS 10.0 for windows .Result(1) The personality factors'comparasion between nursing students at the stage of theoretic study and clinical practiceIn personality factor (G), the scores of nursing students at the stage of theoretic study are significantly higher than that of clinical practice students (P<0.01) , there is no significant difference between these two groups in 8 subordinate factors (P>0.05) .(2) The personality factors'comparison between nursing students and nursesIn two personality factors (ML Q4), the scores of nursing students are significantly higher than that of clinical practice nurses (P<0.05) , however, in 4 personality factors (C, G, N, Q3) , the former's scores are significantly lower than the latter's (P<0.05) ; in comparison between the subordinate factors of these two groups, the scores of nursing students are significantly higher than that of clinical practice nurses in (X1, X4)(P<0.05) but lower in (X3, Y1, Y2, Y4)(P<0.05).(3) The personality factors'comparison between nursing students and female undergraduates normIn 5 personality factors (A, E, F, H, M) , the scores of nursing students are significantly higher than that of female undergraduates(P<0.01) ; In 3 personality factors (C, L, Q2) , the former's scores are significantly lower than the latter's (P<0.01) ; in 8 subordinate factors, the scores of nursing students in 2 subordinate factors (X2, X3 ) are significantly higher than that of female undergraduates(P<0.01), but lower in 4 subordinate factors (X1, Y2, Y3, Y4)(P<0.01) .(4) The personality factors'comparison between nursing students and medical undergraduates normIn 4 personality factors (A, F, H, I) , the scores of nursing students are significantly higher than that of medical undergraduates norm (P<0.05) ; in 4 personality factors (B, N, Q1, Q2) , the formers is significantly lower than the latter's (P<0.05); in 8 subordinate factors, the scores of nursing students are significantly higher than that of medical undergraduates norm in X2 (P<0.01), but in 4 subordinate factors (X3, X4, Y3, Y4) , the former scores is significantly lower than the latters (P<0.01) .(5) The personality factors'comparison between engaged nurses and excellent nurses normThe scores of the engaged nurses are significantly higher than that of excellent nurses in 1 personality factors (F) (P<0.01) ; in personality factors (I, L, M,N, O, Q2, Q3) , the former's are significantly lower than the latters(P<0.05); with comparison of 8 subordinate factors, the scores of engaged nurses are significantly higher than that of excellent nurses in X4 (P<0.01), in 5 subordinate factors (X1 X3., Y1, Y3, Y4) , the scores of the former are significantly lower than that of the latter (P<0.05) .Conclusion(1) The nursing students can control emotional behaviors themselves... |
