Leiguiyuan'S Pattern Theory And Buliding Of Chinese Pattern System

After the Opium War, the form of government and economic pattern of China has changed greatly. To search for a way to achieve China's rejuvenation, many enlightened intellectuals advocated "real learning" in the ideological field while at the same time holding the slogan "save the nation by developing the industry and commerce". With the establishment of the military industry, civil industry spring up and as a result there were more requirement for the pattern. So schools started to offer the corresponding courses such as craft and pattern and the pattern theory of the foreign countries was introduced into China by the foreign teachers and the publishment of the Chinese edition of monograph on pattern. Lei Guiyuan, representing a group of students at that time, started to study abroad, hoping to recommend the systematic pattern theory. While the political, ecnomic and idological problems seriously prevented the development of the pattern study in China. Under such situation, the first generation of the experts still gained gratifying achievement in the field of pattern and it became an independ sbject. After the foundation of the people's republic of China, the systematic system of pattern has formed and Lei Guiyuan made great contribution in this process. He accepted the formal education of Confucian school in his childhood and influenced by the comprehensive education of pattern, besides, Leiguiyuan gained the sturdy basic skill training. He had also done a lot in the field of pattern theory. By introducing the development of the pattern study, the author described the process of the foundation of the pattern study in China, expounding the great contribution done by Lei Guiyuan. Finally, he pointed out that the core of Lei Guiyuan's pattern theory is "creat the artistic life for Chinese".
