The sign of Sino-Japan Cordial Relationship Agreement and Sino-Japan Trade Agreement was the symbol of the beginning of the mutual trade relationship. The Northeast of China played a key role in the latter-day trade between China and Japan. This paper probes the trade between the Northeast of China and Japan during 1871-1931.Before Jiawu War the trade affairs were relatively equal, while after the Jiawu War, imperialistic Japan obtained many privileges from China, especially after Japan-Russia war, it almost solely occupied south part of Chinese Northeast region, and then the Northeast of China region, as the supplying place of market and raw material for commodity dumping, began to conduct the trade rapidly with Japan. Up to the September 18th Incident in 1931 when Japan occupied completely the Northeast of China, this trade was ended at the same time. With ways of comparing and computation, this paper makes a comprehensive probe to the emergence, development and feature of trade between northeast China and Japan, and significance resulted from social development in Japan and the Northeast of China in modern times. This paper contains four parts. The first part discusses mutual trade between the Northeast of China and Japan from 1868 when Yingkou Port was opened to 1904 when the Japan-Russia war broke. During this period of time, the trade between Japan and the Northeast of China was in early establishment stage because the Japanese capitalism was in early establishment stage and the Yingkou Port was newly opened. The second part discusses mutual trade from post Japan-Russia war to the end of World War â…  . After the Japan-Russia war, Japan controlled south part of the Northeast of China region in fact, and it increasingly promoted mutual trade, while the break out of World War â…  in 1914 provided Japan with good opportunity to improve trade in the Northeast of China region. Therefore this period is a rapid development age for the trade between the Northeast of China region and Japan. The third part discusses bilateral trade development from the end of World War â…  to the beginning of "September 18th Incident". During this period of time, due to the end of Word War â… , commodities from European states and US returned to the Northeast of China region market, and impacted by the world economic crisis, the trade between the Northeast of China region and Japan was influenced much too, and developed unsteadily and it is a zigzag development period for the bilateral trade. Integrated with the result of previous three parts, the fourth part summarizes the feature of Sino-Japan trade in the Northeast of China region in that period, and the resulting significance. It makes a further analysis on the role of the Northeast of China region in the commodity dumping and raw material supply of imperialistic Japan. On the onehand it recognizes the positive role of trade between the Northeast of China region and Japan to the social and economic development in the Northeast of China region in modern times, on other hand it stresses that the trade between the northeast of China region and Japan makes a negative impact on the social and economic development in the northeast of China region. Finally it comes into being a conclusion that the trade between the Northeast of China region and Japan in that period is only a trade between a capitalistic country and a semi colonial country.
