With the development and popularization of Internet, the phenomenon of Internet addiction disorder (IAD) has been attached importance to national psychologists and overseas. And Internet addiction disorder becomes a hot issue now. Psychologist I. Goldberg first put IAD forward in 1996. During about the 10 years researching, the investigators had focus their attention on IAD'S definition, diagnose, proportion, infection to individual, cause of formation, treatment and so forth. It is the focus of research that IAD'S diagnosable standards and rectification now.The purpose of the research is finding out if the proportion of Internet addiction disorder (IAD) differs between undergraduates with different mentalities, in order to grope for a way of preventing Internet addiction disorder.Most people with Internet addiction disorder can use the Internet just as normal after a period, so, it's more important to prevent than to treat Internet addiction disorder. Positive Psychology is a new trend of thought who believe that positive mentalities are able to treat and prevent some disorders.The text summarized the proportion, harm, mode of Internet addiction disorder, and concerned part of Positive Psychology. After that, a study on the positive mentalities preventing undergraduates from Internet addiction disorder was done. At the end, the conclusion was put forth that Positive Mentalities are able to prevent Internet Addiction Disorder.First, there was an investigated among 383 undergraduates except freshmen, in order to see the fact on Internet addiction disorder. Next, a research was done on weather high Achievement Motivation, delegating Positive Mentalities, can prevent Internet Addiction Disorder. 428 freshmen were investigated, in order to know their mentalities and if they have become Internet addiction disorder. After that, 45 freshmen with higher and 38 with lower Achievement Motivation were adapted to be pursed after six months, the result is that few undergraduates with higher Achievement Motivation become Internet Addiction Disorder.The result of the studies is that few undergraduates with higher Achievement Motivation become Internet Addiction Disorder, that is to say, positive mentalities, such as higher achievement motivation, are able to prevent undergraduates from Internet addiction disorder.
