Nanning people's oral mandarin is a kind of inter-language which is developed during the progress of cantonese-speaking Nanning people learning Mandarin as their second language. This paper focus on the finals in Nanning people's oral mandarin and try to study them both from the points of view of phonological and phonetic. The phonological study predicts that the Nanning dialect bring about some excursion in the pronunciation of the inter-language. The finals o[o], e[γ], -i[(?)], -i[ι], er[(?)], ei[ei], ou[ou], iou[iou], uei[uei], en[(?)n], eng[(?)η], ing[iη], uen[u(?)n], ueng[u(?)η], iong[yuη] of the inter-language are interfered with the approximate finals and lack of finals in cantonese and result in some pronunciation deviations from norm. some initials in Cantonese influence the blade monophthongs -i[(?)], -i[ι] and medials i[i], u[u], u[y] ofthe finals in the inter-language. However, the differentiations of tones between Cantonese and mandarin do not contribute to the deviation of the finals in the inter-language. The phonetic study reveals that in the inter-language, the dorsal monophthongs a[a],i[i], u[u], u [y] have less degree of aperture; the degrees of labialization are overemphasized in the rounded monophthongs u[u] and u[y] while the tongue position are a little front in the spreading monophthongs a[a]. The finals e[γ], o[o] and er[(?)]have less tendency of contour segment. The diphthongs and nasal vowels have deviations in coarticulation, medials, approximate phonemes when comparing with Cantonese and segment durations.
