Tribal Culture And The Age Character Of The Sacrifice Poems Of Hymns Of Zhou In Book Of Poetry

The main body of Hymns of Zhou in Book of Poetry are sacrifice, the praying forfortune and the eulogy for the achievements of their ancestor. The poems were used insuch occasion as sacrifice, banquet and paying respects to the sovereign, so these poemswere always called the literature of ancestral temple. Because of such an academicdefinition, there are many scholars who denied the value of Hymns of Zhou in thehistory of culture, thoughts and literature. As a result, the research of Hymns of Zhoulagged far behind the prosperous situation of the studies on Book of Poetry. This paperbases on the tribe and age character that were implicated in the sacrifice poems ofHymns of Zhou, and the author also hope to reveal the inner relation of the tribe cultureand the Pre-Qin literature, then to explore the inner law of the etiquette and musicculture and the development of Chinese literature. This paper include three section: introduction, main body and conclusion. Introduction: At first, the author will illustrate the significance of researching thesacrifice poems of Hymns of Zhou from the angle of tribe culture. Secondly, the authorwill give a definition to the sacrifice poem. Main body: In this part, the author will illustrate the tribe and age character of the sacrificepoems in Hymns of Zhou from three aspects: (1) The basic situation of the tribe of Zhou and its tribeculture tradition. From the documents that were handed down from the ancient times and thediscovery of archeology, the author will recognize, explore and analyze the development history ofthe tribe of Zhou and its tribe culture tradition. (2) The tribe culture influence that can be detect fromthe sacrifice of the people in Zhou Dynasty from two angle: appliance and ideology. (3) The agecharacter of the sacrifice poems of Hymns of Zhou. At first, the author will analyze the age mentalityof the people in Zhou Dynasty when they just founded their country. Then, the author will analyzethe new styles and features of the tribe culture of Zhou—the etiquette and music civilization. Conclusion: This part will conclude the main point of this paper.
