During eight years' invasion of Japanese army in Shanxi, they relied on the military force to set up colonial domination. They not only plundered natural resources of Shanxi province, but also plundered and destroyed its rich human resources. The following are their characteristics: (1) Specific aims, that is, to solve the lack of domestic natural resources and labour force, to construct various military project and to supplement lack of Militants and carry on daily service,etc; (2)Organization, that is, to plundered organizedly by kinds of laborer recruiting organization, the sub-organizations of Laborer Association Of North China in Shanxi, and puppet regimes at different levels. (3) diversified and uncivilized ways, that is, to adopt cheating, compulsory conscripting, allocating and arresting and so on. (4) extensive plundering scope, nearly all parts in Shanxi, and the structure of plundered human resources was extremely complex. (5) the number of plundered and destroyed human resources was large, besides directly plundering of human resources, Japanese army did direct and indirect damage to the population of Shanxi,Extensive plundering, destroying and damaging, not only brought unprecedented catastrophe during wartime, but also produced lasting influence on social development of Shanxi. On the one hand, to some extent, it held back social economic development in Shanxi. After wartime, Shanxi's economy was in low-level state, one important reason of which was related to the loss of human resources in wartime; on the other hand, it had deep influence on recovery and development of population.In all, visible and invisible loss of human resources in Shanxi in wartime had deep influence on social development at that time and afterwards. Even though, an accurate estimate to the depth and scope of the influence cannot be obtained at present, it is possible to make a general investigation or draw a simple sketch.
