Thinking Style refers to the tendencies and preferences of processing information when people think. Studies of cultural psychology have shown that the characteristics of both thinking style and processes of cognition are closely tied to culture, and influence the psychology condition and behaviors of people to some extent.Though there are many studies about coping and psychological health of university students from different points of view in the field of psychology, such research has not taken the factors and their influences on coping and health into account. The present study is designed to explore how cultural-specific thinking styles influence the coping style and psychological health.By adopting both quantities and qualitative research methods, it is to examine the characteristics of thinking style. By means of interview and on the basis of the theories by Peng and Hou, it makes up the research questionnaire, purporting to investigate the thinking style of university students. Meanwhile, it also examines the relationship between the thinking style of university students and their coping style as well as the relationship with the psychological health.The results of the present study show as follows:1 Qualitative research showed that the thinking style of university student include four dimension: covariant, holistic, contradiction and change.2 The results of the questionnaire showed that there were significant differences concerning the thinking style of university students with regard to gender, grade, living area and major. What's more, there was an interaction among demographic datum.3 The results showed that there were significant difference in thinking style of university students in general.
