Middle school period is the turning point of individual into adulthood, is the keystage to the problem behaviors and development. On the pressure brought about bysocial transformation, the development of middle school student psychological andbehavior have become the focus of social attention. To explain the middle schoolstudents’ psychology and behavior from the perspective of thinking style, the resultscould be provide scientific theoretical basis for middle school education andmanagement, and to improve the pertinence and effectiveness of the middle schoolstudents’ mental health education.Based on home and abroad research, through theoretical discussions,questionnaires, constructs the theory structure of young people ways of thinking, andtaking the middle school students as subjects, using exploratory factor analysis andconfirmatory factor analysis primarily validate the structure mode of thinking of themiddle school student. On this basis, analyzed the differences of middle schoolstudent thinking-style in the variables such as gender, grade, and age, and discussesthe middle school student thinking style and its relationship with coping styles andmental health. This study the following conclusions:1. The middle school student thinking style is a two dimensional structure, can bedivided into two dimensions for multiple facets and flexibility.2. The reliability and validity of middle school students’ thinking style questionnairehave reached the psychometric requirements; can be used as an effective tool tomeasure middle school student thinking style.3. Middle school student thinking style exist significant difference in gender, grade.Specifically, the boys higher than the girls; generally speaking,2grade higher thanothers. 4. The development trend of middle school student thinking style in grade, displayincreased first and then decreased and then leveled off characteristics.5. Related research found that the middle school student thinking style and copingstyle have significant influence on the mental health, can predict the mental health tosome extent coping style played a part intermediary role in the way of thinking andmental health.
