The purpose of this study is to understand private college students' sources of psychological stress, coping styles and mental health, and understand their relationship, and then provide information to health psychology of private college students. Through analysis and discussion,coudle find better ways to improve the mental health of college students, and provide a viable basis por mental health education of private college.This study used a questionnaire survey, application of the SCL-90, the psychological pressure questionnaire and coping style questionnaire, Investigated 720 students of tow private colleges in Xi'an and Changchun. And using SPSS17.0 to analysis the data. The main conclusions obtained are as follows:(1)The psychological stress position of private college students:the top three is academic stress,job and future stress,family stress, the lastest is love and marriage pressure. Academic stress,job and future stres and interpersonal stress of private college students were significantly higher than ordinary students.(2)Compared with the normal universities'students, private college students are more likely to use negative coping styles, and the difference was significant.(3) For private college students, the factor scores of SCL-90 were significantly higher than the normal college students, their mental health was significantly lower than the normal college students.(4) Psychological stress and SCL-90 was significantly positively related, if the private college students'psychological stress increace, SCL-90 scores will be higher, and the mental health will be worse.(5) Coping styles and the SCL-90 was significantly associated:better mental health of students use positive coping styles (ie, problem solving, calling help), while poor mental health students t use negative coping styles (ie, rationalization, withdrawal, fantasy, self-blame). (6) Coping style was significantly associated with psychological stress:the use of positive coping style (ie, problem solving, help) less psychological pressure on students, while the use of negative coping style (ie, rationalization, withdrawal, fantasy, self-blame) and the psychological pressure on students larger.(7) Private college students'psychological stress, coping styles and mental health:In general, private college students'mental health, psychological stress and coping styles are among a significant correlation. Psychological stress could predict mental health directly, and coping styles is a agency Moderator of psychological pressure and mental health.
