The Reflection Of The Spirit Of Humanism In The Process Of The Reconstruction Of The Modern Chinese Literature

The spirit of Humanism is a topic of great intention world wild. As the transmitter and the media, the writers and the literature writings indited by them have played an important role in creating and transmitting the spirit of Humanism in the process of the history. In fact, it is exactly basking in the Humanism glory that the Modern Chinese Literature, which took Human as the theme, has participated in the reconstruction of Chinese traditional culture and the development of the modern society. However, all these developments and the reconstructions took the Western values as the frame of references and criterions. Here rose a contradiction, which praised the humanistic spirit on the one hand but trampled it on the other hand. In this contradiction, human being is not regarded as the end but the means for a certain political purpose. That purpose is remoulding the society. Therefore, in spite of the advocacy of the combination between the Western culture and Chinese traditional culture, we practically always fall into the thinking dualism, in which we either over praised the Western culture and belittle Chinese traditional culture or overvalue Chinese traditional culture and reject the Western one culture. In the end, we choose a model of monism to abandon our national culture to imitate Western culture thoroughly. Whereas the result of this choice is that we cannot avoid those negative effects which had emergent in Western countries in the process of the reconstructionof modem literature and culture.
