Based on opening questionnaires, analyzing the literature and visiting university students, a questionnaire was developed about the university students' view of gender role. The questionnaire was administrated to 814 students in four grades( from Junior to senior) in order to reach an understanding of the characteristics and development of the university students' view of gender role. The questionnaire is composed of male scale and female scale form, has good reliability and validity. The factor analysis results in five dimensions for the male scale form, and four dimensions for female scale form.Male and female have no significant differences in their gender role distribution. The masculine and feminine traits have negative correlations. Masculine and androgynous have less level in anxiety than those of feminine and undifferentiated. Gender is related to anxiety closely.The difference about the view of gender role between the city androgynous & masculine students and the village androgynous & masculine students is significant.The difference about the view of gender role between the male masculine students and the female masculine students is significant.The difference about the view of gender role for androgynous, masculine& feminine in four grades is significant.
