Though the two artists , Vincent van Gogh and Xu-wei, had being lived in the two sides of the earth, and separated by 300 years each other, a great comparison could be made between them. Through the foreword of the paper state the meaning of " art " and " maddness " , we could find that they all relate closely with personal soul, sprit or feeling. The foreword also show the necessity of the writing of this paper. Then the writer use 5 chapters for all to carry out comparaive analysis between Vincent van Gogh and Xu-wei . The first chapter talks about wether the two artists are really insane, what cause them be insane and compare them on this foundation. On the base of hysteria theory studying , we could conclude that both of them all were borede by hysteria. Through comparing with some reasones, we could find some relation and differenation. The second chapter discusses the artistic achievement of the two artists and then compare them to each other, they all arrived at great achievement . Van Gogh created the expressionism painting-style firstly; Xu-wei was interested in many aspects, like poetry, writting and drawing and so on, and his special drawing-style is the best one has influenced many other artists. They all emphasized on feeling, creation and reality, this point should be adopted by us. The 3th chapter talks about the religious spirit that embodies in the life of artistic creation differ- entiately and compare them. Vincent van Gogh not only showed his romantic religious -feeling by painting but also displaied it in living and social life. Xu-wei's theories about "achieving because of nothing", "achievement coming from self, not others " and "changing every thing's face" stated his religious mood. The 5th chapter discusses the connection beteween their crazy and artistic creation. Van Gogh's madness is not the key to his achievment, but Xuwei's madness has much influence on his art-creation because of mood that time . In the last chapter, the writer think about the relation of art and crazy go ahead, and trying to study those great artists'mind situation(fancy,excitement and so on). The summary part of article not only summary full text, but also replenish some very important and inconvenient concepts that elaborated in text .
