A Historical Exploration Into The Coexisting Relationship Between Chinese Traditional Music And Ancient Literature

Although music and literature belong to two different kinds of art, they have a close relationship. The two kinds of art influence each other, and this relationship plays a big role in the development of art. From this point of Chinese art history, it is found that the combination of music and literature is earliest in history among all kinds of arts. The combination between poetry and music is an obviously characteristic of early stage of art. In most of art works, especially music and literature works, from the Spring and Autumn to Tang, Song, Yuan, etc. Dynasties, this closed relationship could be seen. With the development of society, the specialization of scientific research received more attention. In all the fields, relatively, the model of comprehensive research was neglected, and also, comprehensive research model was neglected in the art researching field, and this is not helpful for us to engage in research in to music and literature. So based on the above view, from the fact of common source of music and literature in the history, the author reviews the coexisting phenomena of the two kinds of arts in different stages, demonstrated the symbiotic relationship between the traditional Chinese music and literature.
