Logical atomism is an important period of studying the certain knowledge in the history of philosophy, and which has important historic and immediate significance. This article discussed them mainly from the following aspects:First, the circumstance of raising logical atomism, that is to say the social historic circumstance and philosophical ideological conditions. The former includes the rationalism and empiricism of modern times' defeat of solution of the question of the certain knowledge and the studying material provided by the engender and development with the advance of natural science; the latter includes the influence of Bertraud Russell and Ludwig Wittgenstein of early stage exerted by English traditional empiricism, the anti-metaphysics of Auguste Comte and Ernst Mach and the ideology of Gottob Frege.Second, the main contents of certain knowledge discussed in logical atomism. There are three aspects: (1) logical analysis is the base and factors of building logical atomism; (2)proposition system of expressing scientific knowledge——atomic proposition, molecularproposition, and generalized proposition; (3) picture theory of prepositional meaning is the core of logical atomism.Third, the significant analysis of searching certain knowledge. Logical atomism that has some significance more or less which requires us to think about seriously, like any significant philosophical ideology includes three points: (1) logical atomism developed Ernst March's comtism; (2) It directly affected Vienna Circle on behalf of logical comtism and the philosophy of language analysis; (3) It suggested the scientific realistic approach and rational approach.fourth, the difficult and reason of searching certain knowledge of logical atomism. The analysis includes three aspects: (1) The difficulty and reason of ultimate analysis's atomic hypothesis; (2) The difficulty and reason of analytic proposition's picture theory; (3) The difficulty between the proposition of Tractatus Logico-philosophicus itself and the anti-metaphysics proposition. These difficulties leaded to the defeat of the ideal of searching definite knowledge of logical atomism. |
