The hidden chamber type is a self-created kind of tales about ancient Chinese literature. It is based on the same characteristic of the tales which can translate surface into a different image in a hidden object. The creation of this type is enlightened by Mr.Wan Jianzhong and his works Decipher Taboo -- taboo themes about Chinese myths, legends and tales. The hidden chamber type has a large amount of variant sub-types, and it involves generative adoration, original magic and religious belief. So it has deeply culture accumulation and research values. This paper will preliminarily integrate the tales, and attempt to analysis it. The aim is to explain their culture backgrounds, social significances and folk customs. The research methods are of archetype, anthropology, folklore, history and so on. All above is approach to construct a reasonable framework for studies in the future.This paper has six parts altogether. Introduction: defines the terms and discuss the researching methods. Part two: analyzes the meaning of Hidden Chamber archetype from four angles. Part three: divides the type in six motifs by the shape of hidden chamber and analyzes their backgrounds and developments. Part four: chiefly summarizes the whole type's culture meanings and its developments. Conclusion.
