The Study Of Song Wan

Shi Runzhang in south china and Song Wan in north china were gifted poets in Qing Dynasty ,while expers on Chinese ancient literature never paid enough attention to them as they deserved. Especially Song Wan who had special and complex life experience received even less attention. Based on an overall examination on his life experiences and his poems,this thesis offers a systematic research into this great poet,by the principle of knowing people and then commenting on the society . First,having obtained adequate materials,I put the life experiences of him in a chronological order,and giving comments on some important occurrences in his life,such as the Keju-Chuchu and his being arrested twice. To the occasions uncleared in documentary materials, I tried my best to find proof and gave satisfactory explanations. Then I spent much time thoroughly understanding his works, with reference to the works of his contemporaries and some documentary works about poetry.I later explained on two level of thought and art.The last thing I do is orientating him in a right position in the long history of poetry to provide people with an exact idea of this great poet.
