The introduction of the paper thoroughly presents us the biography thought of Zhou mi, the ups and downs of his official career, the pains of the conquered nation, the determination of not being an official in the conquering nation, the spread of his works, the talent of the creation and criticism and the basic situation pertinent to the form of his literary thought. After that, it points out the view of his literature. In my opinion, there is a more centralized elaboration on Zhou mi's view of literature in his "HAO RAN ZHAI YA TAN", besides, his part cixue viewpoint and the prose position are also reflected by two anthologies—―"JUE MIAO HAO CI"and "CHENG HUAI LU", but more of them can be seen in all the kinds of his works , it involves widely and contains richly. If lots of scattered viewpoints about literature can be collected from all the kinds of his works, and then be classified and analyzed, so we can find out his whole literary thought. The first chapter is the literature ontology. His thought about the essence of literature is reflected in one of his poem—―collecting books for the offspring. The poem includes several sides of content, such as the relationship between the text and Dao; the outlook of studying Dao; soliciting opinions of the wise man; worshiping classics; the point of the qualities of the text; the idea of traditional poem. The paper finds that his thought about the relationship between the text and Dao both keeps in contact with the traditional confusions and is greatly affected by the Zhu xi philosophy in Song Dynasty. In addition, Zhou mi laid stresses on Dao, but it is not means that he makes light of the text. In Zhou mi's opinion, there are two sides of insight in Dao, that is, the Confucianism ethics morality and the social politics realities; besides, Dao has implications of the law of the development of the social natural object. The theory of the qualities of the text put forward by Zhou mi lay in point of view how to capture one's morality to make Dao rich. Besides, the idea of speaking his wills in the text and making Dao clear discussed above, Zhou mi's understanding of literary essence included the characteristic to the literature of expressing his emotion. "Writing books with great efforts"is an important subject in literature history or criticism history. In Zhou mi's view, "writing books with great efforts"is one side of the idea of expressing his emotion, so a unique thread of circulation appears, which clearly provides us with a longitudinal track in the history. It is no doubt that Zhou mi's idea of "writing books with great efforts"is the successor of the tradition, which is an indispensable chain of the traditional loop. The theory of literature creation is studied in the second chapter. Two componential parts is embodied in it. Firstly, the idea of feelings moved by the social and natural subject and inspiration. In terms of the literature creation, there are two sides of implication in a sudden flash of inspiration. One is touching; the other is the status of inspiration with abundant urge for poetic creation at the bottom of a poet's heart. Secondly, the discussion of the artistic conception. Zhou mi thought "static"was kept in touch with "the poetic conception". On the other hand, "static"had an effect on Zhou mi's artistic thought. The artistic standard to the state of the poetic disposition is the esthetic style that the meaning is implied. In the end, "the factual record"not only is the principle of historical records, also may be regarded as the method of realism literature creation. Chapter three the theory of the style of appreciation of the beauty is studied. Zhou mi spoke highly of the ease and light, which was the style of classic Chinese poetry in Song Dynasty. At any time, he thought the ease and light was the highest standard in the course of judging the text. He made an important elaboration on "the clear rhyme, the flavor, the form and spirit of the text"which were esthetic categories of the ease and light of the text. In addition, he made a comment on the subject that the styles of the text show the writer. Writing technique of literary works is studied in the fourth chapter. Zhou mi advocated making good use of the matter, which should be perfect, at the same time; he thought the writer should not make use of the matter deliberately. In the terms of the antithesis, he thought it should perfectly show no difference from the ease of the text. Although he thought the poem should be rhymed, about the temperament, it should not be rigidly adhere to the four tones of classical Chinese. In the exercise aspect, he approved of the standpoint that the text should not be scared to be revised. Chapter five the historical development and value orientation of the literature is what the paper focuses on. In this chapter, the imitative trend of thought in literature and art in southern Song Dynasty which was closely pertinent to Zhou mi's literary critical means is firstly inquired, and then the intrinsic implication to Zhou mi's law of getting back to the source is concretely analyzed. After that, the relationship between the ups and downs of the literature and the change of the political situation is elaborated. Finally, the paper probes into the relationship between the outlook on ci of upholding the elegance and the outlook on drama of attaching importance to the vulgar. The appraisal system of Zhou mi's literature thought is show in the sixth chapter. In a word, we can draw the conclusion that "paradox as well as reasonableness"and "conflict as well as harmony"is the most remarkable feature in Zhou mi's literary thought. The feature is beneficial from Zhou mi's gift and accomplishment, besides, it is closely linked to his complicated thought, his frustrate experience, and the change of his mood. Zhou mi not only witnessed the end of the part of the history, also saw vicissitudes of dynasty from Song to Yuan and the turn of literature from elegance to vulgar. If we turn back to analyze his literary thought, we may find out some kind of summary spirit which flicker around the literary thought of the Song Dynasty in some degree. Furthermore, a big group of outstanding writers was united around Zhou mi, so he was chosen to be the leader of art circles. He led the current of the literature and art to develop with his unique ideology being the flag.
