| Since 1990s , with the activeness of the academic thought , researchers have gradually paid close attention to adverbial words and made them became one of the research focuses, They also have made considerable progress and development in research of Chinese adverbial words. However, so far as situation that the author himself understands, there are yet few researchers at present who regard adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures as their subject target . And only a few scholars have involved this kind of adverbial words with a small amount of characters in their single thesis, they haven't explained or analyzed the syntactic-semantic-pragmatic characteristics of these adverbial words. So, monographic study on adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures can have much places. Based on past achievements about this topic, this thesis investigates the syntactic-semantic-pragmatic characteristics of adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures of modern Chinese from three-levels . The article is divided into five parts altogether. The first part is an introduction. It mainly focuses on defining two important concepts and introducing the present research state about adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures. The research approaches to the thesis is also introduced in this part. The second part is the definition about the range of adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures. This part is discussed emphatically adverbial word of modern Chinese can be reclassified into three kinds according to the affirmed or denied form of the predicate behind them. The three kinds consist of special-purpose adverbial words in affirming structures, adverbial words using in affirming or denying structures and special-purpose adverbial words in denying structures. In this part the author puts forward that the range definition about the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures can be on the basis of the thought of logic n-value. The third part is a semantic analysis of the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures. It reveals that the most obvious generality of the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures is the expression of polar semanteme. It is found that the polar semanteme can be subdivided into two small kinds, that is, a maximum semanteme and a minimum semanteme. At the end of this part, by way of comparative analysis, the slight differences between several groups of adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures with close semanteme is presented. The fourth part is a semantic analysis of the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures. Started with the differences in semantic function between these special adverbial words and other adverbial words, it is summed up several important conclusions, for instance: the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures can't be spoken only and the ones connecting after these adverbial words are usually a complicated predicate form ,etc. The fifth part is a pragmatic analysis of the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures. It investigates emphatically into the different pragmatic characters between these adverbial words. In this part, it especially discusses the pragmatic traits of several adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures, for example "cong"and "cong lai"etc. This thesis has done more comprehensive and deep analysis of the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures. The main innovation lies in the following aspects: firstly, it is the first attempt that has taken the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures as a main study target; secondly, the range of the adverbial words with special purpose in denying structures has been defined in this thesis; thirdly, it makes a concrete analysis of the syntactic-semantic-pragmatic characteristics of this special kind of adverbial words.
