Design Study On Modern Kitchen Furniture In Urban Housing

The paper is based on practical investigation (kitchen questionnaire), and using systematic research theory. The author brings the concept of universal kitchen for the first time.Chinese meal has good reputation worldwide. So the paper analyses the characteristic of Chinese dietetic culture for modern kitchen and kitchen furniture research.There was no modern kitchen in china before 1990s, after opening policy, Chinese began studying and imitating the western's. So it's necessary to study western modern kitchen history.The author regards kitchen as a research system, in which the kitchen cabinets is a sub-system. Both are researched systematically.Chapter two is about kitchen's function facilities, space, operating process, sunlight, lighting, aeration and so on. Chapter five is focus on design elements of kitchen cabinets. Then it illustrates cabinet space design through pictures.China is stepping into aged society, so the author cites the Utility System to research universal kitchen system. At the end, the author forecast the development tendency about kitchen cabinet.It's hoped that this paper could be helpful and useful for cabinet designers, college teachers and students, and all people concerning kitchen cabinets.
