Language is the carrier of literature, and literary language is part of linguistic studies. This paper studies the language characteristics in novels as Grey Mountains as Ocean, Panlong Port, Gold Everywhere, and Phoenix Platform to analyze the country tang and local characteristics in the language from XiangBengui' fictions, to make an exploration on how to create characters through absorbing the local language properly, to represent the social life, to give prominence to the local characteristic of the literature, thus to enrich the expressive force and the taste value of the works, and on how the patois with strong local color improve its representative force to become a kind of literature language. The present paper can be divided into six parts as follows:The first is its country tang in language use. The author mainly analyzes verbs, adjectives, nouns and place nouns, and the special vocabulary of self-making words in the common patois words and expressions from Xiang' s fictions. The abundant patois words and expressions make his fictions full of country tang.The second is the vulgarity in his fictions. The vulgarity here refers to those dirty words, ill-bred words and ruffian words. The author analyzes the common language context of the use of vulgarity, and tries to find out some information about social culture from the vulgarity.The third is an analysis on his use of idioms. Those idioms, proverbs and slang, spreading widely among the local people, are represented as patois in his fictions, reflecting obvious localism.The fourth is his common rhetoric and its characteristics. His fictions stand out its strong country tang and localism through analyzing kinds of tropes as comparison, exaggerating, personification, borrowing and lending, repetition, platoon of comparison, Dingzhen, Dui' ou, and etc.The fifth is the country tang in his unique title forcharacters. Its country tang through the use of relative titles to represent proximity to each other can be perceived, thus for us to analyze the title manifestation with the feudalism relationship throughout the Chinese tradition, which reflects Xiang' s insists on farmer standard at the same time.The sixth is the local folk songs and drama melody in his fictions. The paper represents the strong folk-customs and country tang revealed in his fictions, through the narration of its Chenhe drama, Yuanling haozi, and other folk songs, and words in folk drama, and the description of the unique Yuanling local folk-customs as wedding songs.
