Using modern Chinese as the lingual background, this article focuses on the usage of "senior and junior", emphasizes on "senior and junior" as the pronouns of the second person with respect to such expressions as respect, standoff, politeness, solemnity, etc. Then it comes a conclusion: "senior" means more of manners, while "junior" sensibilities.While investigating the common principles of using these two words, we notice the complexity of using them with regard to the uncertainties, number variety, person variety, fluidity, contrast. Meanwhile, we also notice that these characters mentioned above are in correlation with "senior and junior", however, "senior "and " junior" are mutually replaceable in most cases.compounds formed by "senior "and " junior" and some nouns representing people mainly have A, B, C, D, E, five forms in total. The five forms are different in forming compounds and linguistic values. A, B, C, E mainly link to "junior", while D connects with "senior" in most cases.At the same time, aiming at the Chinese teaching of senior high schools, we try to seek the guidance on how to use "senior and junior" in the teaching process of Chinese at senior high schools: First, use "senior and junior" in a reasonable way and improve the language of senior high school students. Second, analyze "senior and junior" and improve their literature appreciation ability. Third, call for more use of "senior", improve their thoughts and ethics.
