Building on need-threat model theory, mating sociometer theory of self-esteem and approach-inhibition theory of power,500 college students from 4 universities in Heilongjiang province were surveyed with Mate-Rejection Experience Scale,Sense of Power Scale(SPS),Self-esteem Scale and Mating Behavior Tendency Scale. The method of descriptive statistics and regression analysis statistical used in this study,to grasp the mate-rejection experience of Harbin University Students,a sense of power,self-esteem and mating behavior tendency, and select Advanced tatistical methods of structural equation modeling to explore the relationgship of mate-rejection experience, ense of power,self-esteem and mating behavior tendency in depth. The results showed that:(1)The reliability and validity of Mate-Rejection Experience Scale,Sense of Power Scale(SPS),Self-esteem Scale and Mating Behavior Tendency Scale were good. The validity analysis model fitting index was accepted can be used as a measurement tool for the four variables in this study.(2)Students' mate-rejection experience PRO demographic variables, like sex, grade and major of significant difference.Boys' rejection expereience of the opposite sex is significantly higher than that of the female students. The junior high school students' experience of the opposite sex is significantly higher than that of the freshmen, sophomores and postgraduate students. The rejection of the students of the liberal arts is significantly lower than that of engineering and other professional students.(3)Self-esteem has a significantly difference in love status. The level of self-esteem of college students who are in love is significantly higher than that of single college students who haven't been in love.(4)Mating behavior tendency has a significantly difference in gender and love status.Boys' mating tends to be significantly higher than that of girls.Unwed college students have a significantly lower mating behavior than single college students who were in love and who are in love.(5)There is significantly correlation between heterosexual rejection, the personal sense of power,self-esteem and mating behavior tendency. The oppossite sex rejection experience was significantly negtively related to the sense of power,self-esteem,and maternity behavior. The sense of power waspositively correlated with self-esteem and mate preference, and self-esteem was positively correlated with the propensity to choose partners.(6)Heterosexual rejection negatively predicted mating behavior tendency;(7)The personal sense of power mediated the effect of heterosexual rejection on mating behavior tendency;(8)Self-esteem mediated the effect of heterosexual rejection on mating behavior tendency;(9)There is the chain mediating effect of the personal sense of power and Self-esteem on the relation of heterosexual rejection and mating behavior tendency. There are two aspects of the results of the study. On the theoretical side, the application of the approach-inhibition theory of power to the field of mate choice is provided, which provides a new perspective for the mechanism of the rejection by the opposite sex influence on mating behavior tendency. In reality, some solutions are given to the contemporary single youth's mating problem, effective self-adjustment in the process of mate choice, promotion of mental health and successful mate.
