Studying on the social culture change of Khalkhas (Kirghiz) cross-border nationality not only carries out a practical meaning, but also is the important worth in academy. This thesis fully focuses on the topic systematically. It researches in the process of Khalkhas's development, the course of cross-border nationality's formation and also the social culture changes that occurred respectively. Specifically, this thesis is based on original materials and achievements of other scholars.It is believed that the Khalkhas nationality experienced different development after it became the cross-border nationality due to the unequal treaties made in 1860s. The Khalkhas nationality in our country went through three development stages including such periods as before New China's establishment, after New China's establishment and after the practice of reform and opening. During this period, there were a series of changes in Khalkhas nationality's social organization, economic system, national relationship, religion and education. Its social organization has developed from tribe into the system of regional autonomy of minority nationalities; its economic system has developed from single nomadic economy into multi-economic activities, being a part of socialistic market economy; it has formed new socialistic national relationship guided by the socialistic national policies; its religion has developed from propagation worship and Shamanism into Islamism with its own characteristics in accordance with socialism; its education has developed from lection teaching into modern school teaching. However, the Kirghiz nationality in Kirghizstan experienced another kind of change in the Muscovy period, former Soviet Union period and its independence period. Its political system has developed from Stratocracy, Unitarianism into Presidentialism; its economic system has developed from single pasturage economy into mixed economy; its national relations are complex and increasing body-nationality consciousnesses have negative impact; its religion has developed from nature worship, Shamanism into...
