On Pi Xirui's Thoughts Of Classical Study And Political Reform

In the late Qing Dynasty, about early of 19 century, somescholars fiercely criticized the Sungs' Classical Study which didn't pay more attentions to reality and changed their research direction to JinwenClassical study which emphasized the studies for governance and application. As a type of ClassicalStudy, JinwenClassicalStudy thrived in late Qing Dyansty have more complicated society reasons which closed related to politics, culture and environment transitions.Pi Xirui as a remarkable scholar affected by the reality, made the GongyangClassicalStudy as his theory base of philophy , studied more ClassicalStudy books and finished more ClassicalStudy works. He did more academic contributions for JinwenClassicalStudy's development. In the 1898 reform , PiXirui participated the political reform in Hunan province, and delivered speechs of thoughts of political reform in NanXueHui. And then , he tried his best to push on the abolition of the old examination system and participated actively in the establishment of new education. He was a famous scholar and thinker in late QingDynasty.
