Vocal training is a very important part in young children normal school. The main form of classroom teaching is traditional group teaching. It has its merits and demerits. It has a uniform teaching pattern. It ignores the students' individualities and prevents their pers onalities, hobbies specialties and learning attitudes. The students are from every area of our province. There are many differences in vocal learning between each student. Some have very good bases and are the best ones in their local areas. On the contrary, some are very poor even without basic concept of pitch. According to this, if we use traditional group teaching, it will make the students with weak learning bases lose their interests while to those with good bases it can not meet their learning requirements. And it is not good for students' qualities. In the middle of last century, America and Japan initiated hierarchic vocal teaching. It really faces all of the students, studies their personalities, and creates different teaching environments. It makes every student learn something and is helpful to their all-round developments.In order to overcome the deficiencies of traditional vocal teaching, hierarchic teaching method is put forward. Before hierarchic teachi ng, students should be tested with the vocal skills, techniques, interests, attitudes and specialties, according to the results, they are divided into different hierarchies. According to students' mastering degrees of the skill, teaching content and purpose can be made and hierarchic assessment can be done. This method has obtained a good result in vocal teaching of young children normal school. There are also some problems to have a deep thinking. For example, in the aspects of adding the number of classes and how to solve the problem of fairness in teaching and so on.Hierarch ic teaching in young children normal school has an active realistic meaning and deep theoretical meaning. It motivates the reform of basic education, promotes the students' vocal qualities, develops their personalities and makes them have a new learning method of independence , cooperation and searching.
