The thesis elaborates my knowledge of shuowen from three aspects. Firstly, from the point of contrast ,the thesis discuss the relationship between shuowen and etymological character of Gan dialects . It's necessary for language research to compare living dialects with static literature . The article mainly compares relevant words of my dialects with the words in shuowen ,which also involves shying and chuci. And in the hope of these job be helpful to understand the phenomenon that ancient Wu dialects and Yue dialects have been stored in Jingxi province. In the sametime,I also hope these study can deepen our knowledge of shuowen.Secondly, from the aspect of ancient culture, the thesis try to dig up the profound culture contained by shuowen. The major reason is that shuowen, being an encyclopaedia literature, provides useful material of ancient culture for descendants, which cann't be replaced by any other documents. In the early of the 20~th century, professor Cheng shude had expressed the idea that Chinese history can be researched by characters. Therefore, the text uses two part respectively to investigate ancient culture of ox plough and ancient people's idea and value.Last,I make an investigation on the text of shuowen.Being an dictionary with two thousand years history, without saying, there has some misunderstandings and changes . So it's necessary for descends with a critical eyes to read the literature, though such criticism is not always true. Therefore, the thesis spends two parts on examination:one expresses different idea on the explanation of word 'ox'in shuowen;another discusses some negligence found in Great Chinese Dictionary when shuowen being quoted by it.
