A Profile Of Drama Research In The 20th Century

The modernization of Guan-Han ch' ing study in the 20~th century is a profile of the modernization of Chinese classic opera research ,occurring at the background of China society modernizing, companying with Chinese academic research modernizing .This paper is to describe the process of the modernization of Guan-Han ch' ing study in the 20~th century from vertical and transverse angles .Considered from the vertical angle , the Guan-Han ch'ing study in the 20 century can be divided into four periods ,focused on three cores—the May Fourth Movement ,establishment of the People's republic of China, the reformation and opening .In each period ,academic thoughts , study methods and productions are used to describe the modernization of Guan-Han ch'ing study .The first period is from the beginning of the 20~th century to the end of the twenties ,which is thought of as the transformation of the modernization. During this period , researchers received the ideas of literary evolutionism and used the methods of Qianjia textual research and the deduction and logic belonged to western academic approaches . They had impelled the transformation .The second period is from the beginning of the end of the twenties to the end of the forties ,which is regarded as the phase of the establishment of the modernization .During this period , guided by the conscious idea of building Chinese modern academic research system and influenced by the left ethos of settling classic culture ,researchers accomplished the transformation and consciously built the modern system of Guan-Han ch'ing study .The third period is from the end of the forties to the end of the sixties ,which is deemed as the single development phase .During this period, controlled by the Marxism historic materialism ,researchers linked the method of textual research with the approach of the Marxism historic materialism .They achieved breakthroughs both in basic textual research and literary research and eventually built the modern structure of Guan-Han ch'ing study .The fourth period is from the end of the seventies to the end of the 20th century ,which is looked as the comprehensive development phase. On the one hand , researchers rethought previous philistinism sociology and mechanism materialism . On the other hand ,they actively introduced and absorbed western advanced methods .Theycombined the text research with archeology linguistics and folklore .Besides of methods of historic materialism which had been cleared ,they even borrowed the methods of culture , aesthetics and comparison research . What had they done had renewed research methods exploited new study fields and improved the development of Guan-Han elf ing study.From the transversal angle , the penman choose several famous researchers from each period ,going deep into the analysis of their academic background , research methods and production to reflect the process of modernization of Guan-Han ch'ing study .During the first period , the founder of modern drama research ,named Wang-Guo wei and the terminator of classic drama research ,named Wu-Mei .inherited classic research methods and absorbed foreign academic ideas. Guan-Han ch'ing study began to transfer with both conservative and innovatory efforts. During the second period , the second researchers choosing Zheng-Zhen duo as the delegate burdened the mission of building Chinese modern academic research system , influenced by the Marxism doctrine .As a result, they consciously regarded the Marxism historic materialism as guidance ,finished the modern transformation of Guan-Han ch'ing study .During the third period , the third researchers choosing Wang-Ji si as the delegate established comprehensive structure of Guan-Han ch'ing study controlled by the Marxism doctrine. While , in that crazy times, academic research would unavoidably have the time brand on itself. The modern Guan-Han eh" ing study continued to develop with single thought . During the fourth period , Xie-Bo hang's Guan Han Qing :A Great Dramatist Master and Li-Zhan peng's A Critical Biography of Guan Hanqing were looked as the delegates .The former linked the literature materials and folklore to rebuild genuine figure of Guan-Han ch'ing which was based on the personal reading experience .In the same time , its writing style embodied a breakthrough .The later aimed at summarization .It wanted to absorb other's fruits and lucubrated what preresearchers had not exploited .It comprehensively summarized and concluded the research production of Guan-Han ch'ing study in the 20th century .Modern Guan-Han ch'ing study began to develop comprehensively .
