| For single individuals, apparel has some basic properties of passing on information, such as hint of characters, status notification, etc. However, in reality, apparel has even more remarkable functions and broader space for development in the field of the content, means and end uses of information communication. Under current general social andcultural situation, this paper makes research on information media function and its related morphology design of apparel from displaying properties of different information, according to various real demand situations of current market and industry, in order to try to establish provisional "media" apparel classification system, and to provide thinking method of morphology design for apparel of this kind accordingly. This paper is mainly composed of theory establishment, industry classification and morphology design.The appearance of apparel is the morphology display of dressing under specific historical and social background, which is both one of the material foundations of social living and one way to present human mental culture. In the information era, the wave of "Visual Culture" increasingly shocks the "logos" central position of linguistic culture. No matter whether "Visual Culture" can eventually establish a "independent empire", the visualization and morphology formation of information are very popular among people with the "more understandable, more convenient, more efficient" communication property. The circulation of information can not go without communication media and communication means. Compared with other traditional information media, apparel has its unique characteristics concerning information bearing ability physically and means of communication. Acting as amedia, apparel has the following advantages as extensive contact, high compatibility, more influential, greatly active, high self-motility, long durability, high operative feasibility, excellent aesthetic performance, considerable copy rate, strong thematic feature, etc. However, the essential property of information is "reduction of uncertainty", for one thing, we must avoid mal-transmission of information, especially the communication means with pictures and morphologies as its main ways of communication, which can not be handled by subjective art-appreciation regulations. Therefore, this paper applies the basic knowledge and methods of semasiology, and has come up with the concept of "Symbolized Apparel morphology Design", namely, only under the prerequisite of the specific and definite meaning of morphology, can media apparel participate in communication effectively.Under the requirement of symbolized apparel morphology, this paper makes initial classification on media apparel. The principle applied is the materially usable function and mental and cultural function. The materially usable function is inclined to be used in commercial publication. In recent years, more and more economic units pay increasing attention to the positive promotion function for making profit with classic representative like commercial promotion, which is one of the key issues this paper exploits. While mental and cultural functionmainly acts in the conception, art and aesthetics. Some media apparel combining both materially usable function and mental and cultural function can be illustrated by the system establishment of apparel of public interest.Morphology design is always the critical issue in the research of apparel design, and a innovative new design presents the charm of apparel. But practice has approved that a design just made for the sake of design has no more vitality. However, the media apparel centers around the theme of displaying specific information, and according develop novel apparel morphologies. Whether commercially and aesthetically, it extend the traditional morphology of apparel from a new angle, therefore it is very enlightening.This paper provincially established the system for media system and has tried related morphology design method, in the hope of providing some valuable reference for the system establishment in apparel industry and apparel design. |
