Aesthetic problems have been in the limelight recently in the fields of translation and literature. The reappearance of artistic effects of the original has become a vital factor in literature translation. As for classes about translation, the teacher's aesthetic competence is also very important. Making an aesthetic analysis of a successful translated version by an experienced translator can give some enlightenment for one's translating skill. This thesis is a combination between translating aesthetics and teaching aesthetics, aiming to make an explorative aesthetic analysis about the aesthetic substance and necessity in translation teaching enlightened by the artistic effects in the translated version for Shakespeare's 'The Two Noble Kinsmen'.Based on the previous view of aesthetic judgment, this thesis firstly states the importance of aesthetics in translation teaching and summarizes the aesthetic effects that both the drama 'The Two Noble Kinsmen' itself and Sun Fali's translated version have achieved. In the second part, it gives an analysis for the aesthetic substance of Sun's translated version in the perspectives of artistic conception, collection of folk songs, rhetoric and approach to culture default. In this part, examples are chosen from the original and translated version and they are appreciated and analyzed from the perspective of an aesthetic subject for both the source and target language.In the present thesis, translation class is compared to a drama. The teacher is an actor and the students are the audience. The decent performance of the teacher, the art of his language, and the appropriate choice of teaching material are well worth the effort. Translation teaching is a rather theoretical yet flexible process;the aesthetics in drama performance can also be the reference for the optimization of all the factors in the class. The third part is then the discussion about the requirement of artistic factors in translation classes. In this part, such aesthetic factors as class atmosphere, the elegant demeanor and some qualities for the teacher, the aesthetic substance of the teaching contents, and the suggestions for development of students' positive attitude and consciousness of aesthetics are involved.Finally, the thesis presents the present study and the teaching method related in the modern teaching field and gives suggestions for further study.
