With the development of Information Technology, the College English–teaching is hot forreform. The network and multimedia technologies are becoming the new methods of theteaching of English. The college English writing course as the weak part of the collegeEnglish teaching should be drawn more attention.This thesis firstly sums up the actualities of the teaching of English writing and analyzesthe contemporary situation of the IT technology used in it both here and abroad. Through theanalysis of the recent documents and the investigation of the college students and teachers, ithas found out the problems of the teaching of college English writing, realized the importanceof introducing the English writing course to college students and the great urgency to reformthe English writing teaching mode, and pointed out the reform orientation. With the theoryand method of Education Technology, it applies the Instruction Design to regenerate the linksand mode in traditional teaching of English writing. Based on the constructivism theory,multimedia design theory and linguistic learning theory, it has designed a collegeEnglish-writing classroom-expanding teaching-mode in the IT environment.This mode takes the network and multimedia as the main teaching tools, the classroom asthe main form, and makes the in-class and after-class teaching stages complement each other.The teaching process is divided into two stages: the in-class stage and the after-class stage.Proceeding from the teacher and students' dominant and recessive behavior, it designs twosystems to construct harmonious teaching environment: the first system and the secondsystem, so that the teacher will increase efficiency on the guiding and controlling of thestudents.This mode gives more detailed expositions of the integration of English writing andnetwork multimedia technology, the creation of teaching environment, the interaction betweenthe teacher and students, and the evaluation of students' learning. Experimental research wasconducted to verify the effect of the college English-writing classroom-expandingteaching-mode. And it met intended result. The mode has proved to be effective and improvedboth teacher and students' development.
