Flipped Classroom has been the research hotspot at home and abroad in recent years.It is a newly-emerged teaching mode in which students preview the teaching videos recorded by the teachers or downloaded from the internet before class while the teachers and students make communications and discussions in class thus to help the students to better understand related knowledge and complete the tasks.At present,the teaching mode for college English writing of non-English majors in colleges and universities still remains in the form of traditional classroom centering on lectures by teachers.The class hours of national college English have been cut,which causes the reduction of class hours for writing teaching.However,among the five skills in English learning,i.e.listening,speaking,reading,writing and translating,writing is especially one most important link to present the comprehensive proficiency of learners,which not only involves the language application,but also is a process of thought creating,and plays an important role in the exams of CET-4 and CET-6 and postgraduate entrance examinations.How to enhance writing skills of the students in the limited class hours of college English and improve the current teaching situation of college English writing is urgently needed to be solved.Based on this,the research tries to apply the teaching mode of Flipped Classroom to the college English writing teaching and to check whether the writing teaching mode of college English after reversion is effective to improve the writing capability of college students through the empirical research.Based on this objective,the paper mainly solves the three following problems:(1)What is the current status quo of the web-based learning capability of college students?(2)What is the current status of college English writing teaching?(3)What is the effect of the writing teaching mode of college English based on Flipped Classroom on improving the English writing capability of non-English majors?The research takes Constructivism Learning Theory,Mastery Learning Theory and Autonomous Learning Theory as the theoretical basis,selects 210 students from Grade 2016 non-English majors from three natural classes with the same English level from Jiamusi University as the research subjects to carry out the practical teaching research with the methods,including questionnaires,after-class interviews and teaching experiments.The empirical research applies the new-type teaching mode of Flipped Classroom into the college English writing teaching,designs three-round teaching experiments lasting for four months(from August of 2016 to December of 2016,conducts statistical analysis on the experimental data based on SPSS21.0 software and draws the following conclusions:1.The college students have strong learning capability in applying the internet and mobile terminals,which is the prerequisite for the experiment of Flipped Classroom.2.The current college English writing teaching cannot attract the students,owing to the restricted class hours and old-fashioned teaching mode and is difficult to improve the English writing level of the students effectively,which is urgently needed to be improved.3.It is effective to apply the teaching mode of Flipped Classroom into the college English writing teaching,which can not only obviously strengthen college students' interests in English writing but also evidently improves their writing capability.The teaching mode of college English writing based on Flipped Classroom is obviously better than the traditional teaching mode,which is an effective method worth of applying and promoting.The teaching experiment has achieved good teaching effects.The research results not only prove the feasibility and validity of Flipped Classroom in the teaching design of College English writing,but also enrich the teaching practices of applying Flipped Classroom to College English writing course.It provides references and suggestions for other researchers' further study and the new idea for the design and development of the application of Flipped Classroom to other courses.
