In the 1990s, the booming of feminism literature has become a major characteristic of the literary development. However, the emergence of the extreme writing about human body by those women writers of the 1970s, like Wei Hui, Mian Mian, Jiu Dan and Mu Zimei, etc, has put women's literature into a state of condemnation. It has turned out that the extreme writing about human body by those women writers has been transferred from a pure literary phenomenon to a social one and to a front for every ideology to fight against each other. The fact is really thought-provoking. What is the attitude of this thesis toward those writings by the women writers of the 1970s? This thesis holds such opinions as follows: The writings about body desire don't go out of the developing track of women's consciousness in the 20th century and they are an extreme expression of feminism in women's literature. Moreover those writings, which resemble performance arts, are collective composition by writers, readers, the media and critics under the influence of consumerism. Due to the extensive participation of various ideology, those women's writings have developed into an upsurge of sex sedition. During the sediton, they are spreading an aberrant women consciousness and seeking the ideological power of women's sex discourse.Adopting diachronic and synchronic methods, this thesis, first by analyzing the texts, explores the relationship between the writings by the women of the 1970s and feminism and the emancipation of women in China, as well as the developing process of women's consciousness in women's literature in the 20th century. Secondly, from historical context, this thesis studies the influence of consumerism on women's literature and the effect of readers' expectation and the medium interest on the writings by the women of the 1970s.
