People of every generation have their own literary dreams and thus excellentliterature and authors come out, which are the vitality of the continual developmentof Chinese literature. Since the new age, the composition of Chinese literary workshas experienced the time of Scar novel, Novel of introspect, Novel of search for root,Vanguard novel, and New realistic novel which reflected the great renovation andimprovement to the Chinese literature many times. Those authors born in the 1960sand 1970s brought impact and vigorousness to the Chinese literary many times aswell. In the early 21st century, literature of the "generation after the 1980s" wasdelivered in the media environment which was dominated by the popular culture,entertainment spirits, and the consumerism. Literature of the "generation after the1980s", appeared on the breeding ground of Internet, has a great number of readers aswell as a mature market due to the media's excessive propaganda and the rapidmaturity of the system of the best seller. Additionally, the literature of the "generationafter the 1980s" was accelerated by the commentary by the media. The authors of the"generation born after the 1980s" contribute to the Chinese literature with their freshwriting style and vigorous personalities, taking more and more proportions in thereader market of both the internet and the traditional literary media, which constitutesa special phenomenon in the Chinese literature. It should be noted that both authors and readers of the literature of the "generationafter the 1980s"are the same contemporary youngsters. It reflects what they thought,felt and what they done, which are the characteristics of the contemporary youthculture. It is no doubt that literature of the young "generation after the 1980s" is animpulse of Contemporary Youth Culture in literature. Its tendency of dismiss reflectedthe consciousness of equality of the youth culture. Its unlimited pursuit to theindividual experience and the hedonism show the characteristics of secularized youthculture. It has been commercialized successfully, showing the tendency ofconsumerism, which makes special value and significance in the ChineseContemporary Youth Culture. On the method of recounting, authors of the young "generation after the 1980s"pay more attention to their original life experience and the soul of the lost spirit,which shows the confusion and nullity of the youth, as well as the hardship andanxiety of their personal growth. They comprehend their ideas of finding themselvesby reconsidering and portraying their growth experience, campus life, vagrant life andlove in such a method that draws more close to the literature. The dramatis personae's"brutal" and sensible life experience gives them chances to observe themselves,stipulates initially their self-consciousness, self-awareness, the anxious observationsto the profound psychological world, and the exploration to their life and thesurrounding world. The authors of the "generation after the 1980s" depict their stories disregarding ofthe history and the deep aspect of the world;while they utilize the depiction of theordinary routine, as well as the image and the non-history permeate. On one hand, asto the main body of usual recounting, they draw back into the self-world to avoid theannexation and seepage by the mainstream words. Conversely,the heroines in those works either lost themselves in the bias of love, or desperatelypursuit comfort in a haste love, which express a dilemma the authors encountered.Thus, back to those authors of the "generation after the 1980s", who purely expresstheir personal experience they make up all kinds of anecdotes in order to support theirwriting. However, to some extent, they merely become commodity appealing to thefunctionalism trend.In conclusion, the youth born in the 1980's are expressing their unique life, emotionand valuation by their literature, finding their locations and feelings in the currentworld. Though there are kinds of shortcomings, they are still young and developingtheir writing skills. And they need the consideration and guidance by the academy.This article contributes to studying the method and direction of the depiction, thetendency of the anti-essence doctrine used by the literature of the young "generationafter the 1980s", in such a methodology of recounting and analyzing the characteristicof the literature that accelerates the deepening research to the literature of the"generation after the 1980s" and the interaction between the academic research andthe conception of the literature.
