The Study Of 《Er Ya Yi Shu》

Hao Yixing was a famous linguist of the Qing Dynasty. His《Er Ya Yi Shu》represented the highest level of linguistics studies on《Er Ya》.Therefore ,to study the linguistics of《Er Ya Yi Shu》is significant. At present ,there is no systematic study about it .Studying it would just fill the gaps.We will explore this thesis under the guidance of modern linguistics theories of semantics and pragmatics ,and the history of Chinese linguistics.This thesis includes five chapters:Chapter one :the introduction.This chapter discusses the object of the study ,such as when Hao Yi xing lived ,his family backgroud ,his life ,his works of linguistics ,the value of studying《Er Ya》,the important value of studying《Er Ya Yi Shu》,and then make clear the methods of studying.Chaper two :the research of Hao Yi xing's theory'sound and meaning integrating together'. Owning to the influence of flourishing of Ancient Chinese study and the academic atmosphere in Qing Dynasty,Hao Yixing had a deep understanding of the theory'sound and meaning integrating together'. Therefore,he made a great achievement in interpreting《Er Ya Yi Su》,which exceeds the other versions.Chaper three:the research on systematic of《Er Ya Yi Shu》. Hao Yixing became aware that semantics is systematic.The words of language control and connect each other in meaning .He could explain the inferior words with superior ones or vice versa in a general system .He put the words in the assemble to distinguish them. He point out the commone feature and the distinguish features of the words through comparison .This way analyzing the signification is profound.Comparing the semantic field theory and the way to analyses sememe of the modern linguistics ,they are almost different in approaches but equally satisfactory in results.Chapter four :the achievements of dialectology.
