In late Qing Dynasty, translated and introduction novel surged into China in a hugenumber, which greatly affected the narrative model of novels of the late Qing Dynasty. As themost part of all translated novels, detective novel played even a more important role inaffecting the storytelling of Modern China literature. The "abrupt beginning" flashback indetective novel imposed great influence on late Qing novel and modern novel. The Decoyhome mode and "out comer intervention" mode during " May 4" and later period are bothrelated to foreign detective novels. In fact, no matter flashback, "out comer intervention" orDecoy home, these story telling mode are all come down in a continuous line in essence.In the first part, this article mainly analyses the reason and quantity of the introduction offoreign detective novels and the modernity related issue, thus putting words for the influenceof detective novel in the later article. Meanwhile, it also analyses the exterior environmentthat is indispensable for the existence, development and penetrating of he foreign detectivenovels in China, thus making the existence method of foreign detective novels in modernChinese society show up clearly.In the second part, this article analyses the influence of foreign detective novel on thestorytelling mode of the Jiu Ming Qi Yuan by Wu Jianren and The travels of Lao Canby LiuE in late Qing Dynasty, and the influence on the novel diary mode of Zhou Shoujuan and BaoTianxiao. The foreign detective novel opened the gate of modernity storytelling mode fornovels in the late Qing Dynasty. Though it was used not very naturally or fluently, however,the modernity in late Qing literature, it was of great importance. The article analyses theinfluence on novelists in "May 4" period by foreign detective novels, which promoted theform of Decoy home mode. Here mainly analyses "hometown" and " crazy man's diary" byLu Xun. At that time, the flashback writing method is more natural, influent and emphasizedon mood rather than using flashback as a skill of showoff.In the third part, this article put the pen on the "out comer intervention" mode of themodern novel. It mainly analyses the "out comer intervention" mode in the "in the hospital"by Ding Ling and "homeland" by Ai Wu. The "out comer intervention" mode actually alsobelong to flashback writing method.The influence of foreign detective novel on the Chinese modern novel in aspect of timeand storytelling is very essential, which represented the requirement of evolutionism, and isthe requirement of modernity;it is the mark of modernity of literary work.
