| Uncovering the relationship between population and enviroment is an important mission for modern historical geography .The thesis studied the up-reaches of Yangtse at the point of the distribution of the forest and forestry and side occupation .The autor tried his best to objectively uncover the relationship between population and enviroment in Tang and Song Dynasties. During these Dynasties the charactoristic of the distribution of the forest is that hilly areas had much more forest than plains&platlands and vallies . These situation accorded with the agricultural technology and the pressure of population and arable land .The thesis was divided into four parts.The first section mainly explained the reason why the author choosed this subject .and introduced some concept about the distribution of the forest and the relationship between the population and environment.In the second section the author analysed the distribution of the forest during the Tang and Song Dynasties on the basis of dividing these areas into 12 small regions .In the third section the author introduced and analysed the general situation of the foresture and side occupation in the up-reaches of Yangtse during these period.In the last section the author generalized the characteristic about the distribution of the forest in these areas and make an inquiry into the reason .Further more the... |
