Since 1990s, great improvement can been found in the realm of "regional culture" study ,but many shortages still exist in the regional culture study and the most reason is short of academic study. To solve this problem, we should establish an independent subject "regional culturology" which regard the "regional culture" as object of study. Based on summarizing predecessors' research of regional culture, the essay explores three basic problems of regional culturology. The first one analyses the concept of "regional culture". "Regional culture" is a kind of objective existence; Its definition is the total Mammon and the immaterial wealth which produced in all ages by people within the particular region. It's a history of comparison dynamical cultural concept and it is well known that the main aspect of Chinese regional culture is local. This section also gives a particular account of the substantive characteristics and the "core-periphery" structural system of the regional culture. The second one is how to classify the regional culture. Because of multivariate regional culture, complicated Chinese geographical environment, numerous ethnic groups and the long history, the classification of the Chinese regional culture is very difficulty. So we can't use a certain cultural characteristic alone while draw a line between the regional cultures. Considering society, history, geography environment etc, we should classify the regional culture by integrative basis which consist of dialect, district, custom and so on.The third one studies cultural integration and cultural differentiation. Cultural exchanges and cultural transmission lead to region cultural integration and cultural differentiation which result in new regional cultural system. What claimed our serious attention is that ethnic group's identity and regional identity bring about regional cultural differentiation. Cultural compatibility and geographical conditions have a great influence on cultural exchanges. With society developing, regional cultures intercommunicate frequently and their connotation becomes more and more homogeneous. At the end of the article a "conclusion" gives a review of the discussion in the paper, and some problems for resolve are mentioned to the further efforts on the topic.
