A Study On The Word Creation Of Modern Uyghur

The lexical system of the language has been constantly changing. The lexical change mainly represents as dying out of old words, creating of new words and changing of word meaning. And that creation of new words is the important way of producing new words. The creation of new words goes along on the basis of existing language components and laws of word creation. So the relation between the form and meaning of new words is not always arbitrary. The research on the creation of new words is called word creation. The research of word creation should be one important part of Uyghur lexicology, but there is not much special and systematic research on Uyghur word creation.Here in this dissertation, on the basis of previously studies, under the guidance of the theories of general linguistics and other related subjects, the author intends to systematically analyze and deliberatively describe the various laws and ways of modern Uyghur word creation. And also puts forward his introductory view on the field of word creation. Furthermore, on the basis of the"dictionary of modern Uyghur", the author statistically analyses the productivity of affixes in modern Uyghur, and aims to provide dependable data for the study of Uyghur language.The thesis includes six parts in all.
