A Study On The Translation Of The Return Of The Native From The Perspective Of Translator's Subjectivity

Translation activity is a scientific work in which the author, the translator and the reader are all concerned. The translator who plays the subjective role possesses multiple identities in the process of translation. He should conduct a careful study of the original as a reader. He should represent the original as a writer. He should express the original as a creator. He should fully understand the original as a researcher. From the angle of functional theory, modern hermeneutics and of reception aesthetics, the text is not the absolute center of translation and translation, in fact, is the communication or dialogue between text and its translators (readers). In the actual process of the translation, the translator has to give play to his subjectivity in achieving a comprehensive understanding of the original. And then he should make an appropriate representation in the target language and take into account the dialectic relationships between the local and global meanings of the text at the linguistic, cultural and aesthetic level. The translator not only needs to resort to all sorts of tricks to grasp the original spirit but also attends to the reception competence of the reader and improves the social evaluation of the translation work in order to make him realize the fusion of horizon with the author in the source language and the reader of the target language. In addition, since translation is a means of cultural interaction. the translator will be inevitably affected and restricted by the ideology and culture of the social society.
