The noun phrases whose determiner is Mandarin nominal coordination carry two major grammatical loads: the attribution and the possession. In thus structure, the particle de is obligatory, facultative or omissible. Generally, de presents in the structure to denote properties of the head noun, and it absents in the structure of possession. The presence or absence of de, in certain cases, is the sign of difference of the attribution and the possession.In French, the attribute in noun phrases who indicates the properties of head word is formed with the preposition de/à plus a nominal determiner, or directly with an adjective or a noun; the attribute in noun phrases indicating the possession is formed with the preposition de plus an article and the nominal determiner. The presence or absence of de does not distinguish the attribution and the possession.In addition, when several determiners appear together, for avoiding prolixity of sentences, we can farther omit the particle de in the instance of keeping the meanings, hence for students whose mother language is French, to learn thus noun phrases and the rules of presence or absence of de is prerequisite to master the pure Mandarin.In this paper, on the basis of analyzing the differences of noun phrases in Mandarin and French, we classify the presence or absence of de in Mandarin, examine the mastery actuality of the students by a test, and advance the teaching means and teaching order as to help the French Mandarin beginners.
