An Investigation Of The Queen Of Night's Coloratura Arias Of Opera The Magic Flute

The dissertation made an analysis, from a view of point of the Western Musical History, of two huaqiang soprano arias"don't be terrified, my young man"and"the fire of revenge is burning in my heart", both by Night Queen, the kernel heroine of Mozart's opera The Magic Flute in term of method of musical analysis. A treatment project for singing practice and a reference for spectator and performer were thus provided through an analysis of the two aria's musical structure form as well as the shaping of the Night Queen's character.The dissertation focused on the following aspects of the Mozart's famous opera: the musical structure form of the abovementioned arias; the morphological features of coloratura, a study of the character shaping of Night Queen; a further understanding of the coloratura composer's creation intention and the creation principles the composer was following when writing his opera, on the basis of an investigation of sing style, coloratura singing technique and singing expression.
